The Mona Lisa is one of the most popular paintings of all time. As the most recognized painting in the world, she has been used for advertising purposes, comedy bits, forgeries, and is the most recreated image worldwide by aspiring artists. During the late part of the twentieth century, restoration efforts were underway to restore the Sistine Chapel. These efforts inspired this drawing, as a tongue-in-cheek way to restore The Mona Lisa to her original majesty.
